Introduction of newly hired full-time Taos Public Library employee - Nina Cammer-Sullivan, Library I / Children's Library Aide; Effective 01/31/2022 (HR Director Tamara Chavez)
Summary/Background:
Further encouraging news this week. Cases continue to decline quickly across the country, including a 74% decrease in Taos County week on week. Hospitalizations are following. We appear to be just past peak hospitalizations in New Mexico for this Omicron wave. Nationally concurrent hospitalizations during this Omicron wave peaked at 18% above the winter 2020-21 peak. Thankfully they have peaked 30% lower than last winter in New Mexico. In part due to the higher than average vaccination and booster rates which have been shown to substantially reduce the risk of hospitalization and death.
Sadly two more Taos County residents lost their lives to Covid last week, bringing the total to six in the last two weeks.
