On May 24, 2022, Town Council approved NMDoT-A grant agreement SKX-22-01 in the amount of $1,600,000 for the rehabilitation of the existing 20-year-old apron. The apron is used for loading and unloading passengers, fueling aircraft, and short and long-term aircraft parking. SKX 22-01 Amendment #1 in the amount of $4,000,000 will replace the former executed grant agreement The grant will be used for the rehabilitation of Area 1, Area 2 and Area 3, as far as the funding will go. FAA had supplemental funding available to suppplement an existing maintenance project and the funding was awarded to Taxiway A to extend the taxiway to the apron. This is a 100% FAA funded project.

FAA provided a supplemental grant 3-35-0041-046-2022 for the reconstruction of Taxiway A. The areas to be reconstructed are identified on the attached map as Sheet 4.9 (identified with a square around it) and Sheet 4.8 (the culvert and the small patch to the apron). Both are extensions to the apron.
Summary/Background:
On Monday, August 22, Council reviewed the Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) and a final ranking will be conducted at this regularly scheduled meeting. The ICIP provides a framework for decisions about community growth and development, covers a five year period and is developed and submitted annually. It includes funding time frames, estimated costs, justifications, and the details of each specific infrastructure capital improvement project proposed, by year, over the five year period. The plan includes repair or replacement of existing infrastructure and the development of new infrastructure.
Some general guidelines regarding the projects are:
1) Must have a value of $10,000 and a useful life of at least 10 years;
2) Repair or replacement of existing infrastructure and/or the development of new infrastructure;
3) Not part of the annual budget; and,
4) Project must be owned by the Town.
ICIP Publication - The complete ICIP Publication will be available before the 2023 Legislative Session. The ICIP Publication will include the project summary and the top 5 projects of all participating entities and will be available on the web at: http://nmdfa.state.nm.us/ICIP.aspx.
A notice announcing the ICIP publication is sent to the Governor of New Mexico, all Legislators, Legislative Finance Council, Legislative Council Service, and all participating entities.
