The following individuals were nominated to the Joint Taos Recycling Advisory Board by the Town Council:
Councilmember Evans made a motion to appoint Herbert Foster, Miles Bonny, Terry Timme, and Amy Mesa to the Joint Taos Recycling Advisory Board. Councilmember Fernandez seconded the motion. The motion passed. The Councilmembers voted as follows: Ayes: Evans, Fambro, Fernandez, Ortega.
Mayor Maestas stated since there is time before the next Taos County Commission Meeting, he proposed extending the submission of letters of interest to the Joint Taos Recycling Advisory Board to September 1, 2022. There were no objections.
Note: The Joint Taos Recycling Advisory Board is composed of eleven positions; however, two (2) positions are held in reserve for two youth members below the age of 19. Each elected official of the Town of Taos Governing Body and Taos County Governing Body selects a member of the board and is subject to approval from both governing bodies. An eleventh member may be chosen jointly by the Taos County Commission Chair and the Mayor of the Town of Taos. Taos County did not select members to the Joint Taos Recycling Advisory Board due to a lack of a quorum.
