Staff recommends acceptance of CDBG Planning Grant funds in the amount of $50,000 with a Town of Taos match of $5,000.

Summary/Background:

Town Council finds that there is a significant need to update the Town of Taos Land Use and Development Code Title 15 and Title 16 as Phase III of the Comprehensive Plan to provide adequate services to the community. This project meets the requirements and objectives of the Community Development Block Grant Program. Acceptance of CDBG Planning Grant funds to update the current LUDC (Land Use Development Code) that were applied for upon the acceptance of Resolution 23-30 at the Town of Taos Council Meeting on August 8, 2023.

Summary/Background:

This agreement is made and entered into by the Department of Finance and Administration, State of New Mexico, acting through the Local Government Division, Bataan Memorial Building, Room 202, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87501 hereinafter called the “Department” or abbreviation such as “DFA/LGD”, and Town of Taos, hereinafter called the “Grantee”. This Agreement shall be effective as of the date it is executed by the Department. On behalf of the DFA/LGD, the Grantee is awarded funding from the Regional Recreation Centers/Quality of Life Grant in the amount of $100,000 to plan, design, renovate, construct, furnish and equip the Filemon Sanchez fairgrounds, park and baseball fields in Taos.
