Recommended Action: Staff recommends approval and acceptance of funding from DFA.

Summary/Background:

The U.S. Department of Treasury has made federal funds available to the State of New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration ("DFA") under the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (“CSLFRF”) to complete building of five (5) housing units that can be sold at less than $300K, which is half the average housing cost in the area; Housing units will include an affordability mechanism that maintains the units as affordable over the next 20 years; phase building of the units will allow for turnaround of funding for ongoing building.
