Section 12-6-3(A) NMSA 1978 mandates that the financial affairs of every agency be thoroughly examined and audited each year by the State Auditor, personnel of his office designated by him, or by independent auditors approved by him and the audits be conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and rules issued by the State Auditor. Section 2.2.2.10.M(4) NMAC, the agency (Town of Taos) and the IPA shall arrange for the IPA to present the report to the governing authority of the agency, at a meeting held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act, if applicable.
Cordova CPAs LLC was on-site during the week of September 27-29, 2023 to complete their field work. The report was submitted to the State Auditor's Office by the December 13, 2023 deadline and in accordance with State Statutes.
We have completed our 2023 financial audit with an Unmodified Opinion on the Financial Statements and Unmodified Opinion on the Federal Single Audit. The Independent Auditors' Report and summary of findings can be found on pages 139, which are noted on the Financial Statements.

Navigating these tense interactions with the public is not only complex, but can also exacerbate employees’ personal stress and past traumas. This presentation will introduce the concept of trauma informed care in the workplace. Practical approaches for de-escalation, self-compassion, and reducing re-traumatization for both clients and staff will also be explored.
